August 16th 9:00am General Meeting at "Thrive" 

The general meeting will be held at "Thrive" Assisted Living & Memory Care located on Frederica Road next to the Frederica House Restaurant.  We will meet there through November while the Parish Hall is being renovated.  Thrive has generously offered their beautiful facilities to us during this period.  This month we will be reviewing the status of a number of our approved and planned projects.  Among those are our water project for Mayette to be installed by World Water Relief, Clean water for the schools, the approved  St. Joseph computer center and our Fall Dinner Event.  We will also provide an update on our Education Fund Drive which began on June 15th and will run through August 15th.  Everyone is invited to attend.  Join us and learn more about what we do.

Education Fund Drive - June 15th through August 15th

Each year we assist Father Islaire  by supporting three schools in the Cotes-de-Fer area of Haiti.  Because of your donations, many children in the area are able to attend school and receive an education.  The money is used to provide tuition, teacher's salaries and training, books and supplies and a school lunch program.  Each year since we started, we have been able to take an increasing role in the support of these three schools.  As a result, more children are able to attend and receive an education.  Last year we were also able to support tuition for 30 high school students who otherwise would have had to quit attending school.  The budget for school operations this year is $25,000.  $9,000 is supplied by other organizations working in Haiti leaving the remaining $16,000 as a request from Father Islaire to Helping Hugs, Inc.  The yearly tuition for one high school student (we were asked to support 30) is $160.  The remaining $11,200 is used to support the 3 elementary schools.   Thank you for what you have done in the past and we hope that your generosity will continue in the coming 2018 - 2019 school year. Please help us meet our $16,000 goal.


Fall Dinner Event - November 10th

Please mark your calendars for a fun evening of dining and entertainment as we plan for our annual event.  Please consider being a part of making this year's event a great success.  We need your talents in planning and executing this large event and are willing to meet your schedule.  Send us an email at or call a member for more details.  Tom Delaney  of Delaney's Bistro has agreed to cater the event again this year.  Because of the renovation of the parish hall, we will hold the event in the Golden Isles Aviation Hanger.  If you've never been to an event there, we think you will be surprised at how nice the facility will be.  The doors will open at 6:00 pm and dinner will be served at 7:00 pm sharp.  Parking will be available on the airport apron.  Just follow the signs.
